So we have seen in the school of prayer, that it’s not only about approaching the FATHERHOOD of God in FAITH and HONESTY , but your MOTIVES / MOTIVATION for the prayer also really counts. For all a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord .(Prov 16:2)
Always remember what the scripture says, that
“I God, I search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.” – (Jer 17:10 MSG). The Lord weighs your heart.

What is your MOTIVATION for the thing you are crying for? Why do you even pray? When was the last time you spent 30mins or an hour in prayer which was not about your needs? If no one knows that you are praying or doing good or serving, will you still do it? I am trying to make you see why some of your prayers are ineffective and why the good you do may get no reward/recognition before God; And how you can change that.
I know self examination is always difficult. But it will save you a lot of wasted efforts. You want your prayers and deeds to be effective? ALWAYS EXAMINE YOUR OWN MOTIVES BEFORE YOU BRING IT TO GOD.
Listen to Jesus teach on the ‘hypocrisy of men’ in prayer:

Matthew 6:5-6
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
There are those who love to pray outside, So They Will Be Seen Of Men.
Their real intention here is for people to see that they are praying. The only time you pray for 30mins and over is in corporate prayer meetings. Why is that so? You are praying and dozing, then you hear someone approaching, then you activate prayer mode to show you are praying. My friend, who are you kidding? Stop the joke. This kind of prayer goes nowhere. Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.” You are not getting any answers for that prayer because that’s not what your heart wants. Your intention is to be seen by men – and that’s exactly what you got – MEN SAW YOU.

There’s nothing wrong with public corporate prayer. It’s actually very good for the prayer of agreement. But that must not be all there is to your prayer life.
If the only time you spend 30mins and over in prayer is in corporate prayer meetings, then there’s something wrong with your prayer life. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PERSONAL PRAYER CLOSET/CHAMBER – Where you meet your Father and King alone; away from the intruding eyes of the public.

Isaiah 26:20
“Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.”
I cannot go a day without spending time with the Lord in my closet – My spirit can’t survive it; I have trained myself that way.
Child of God, ENTER INTO THY CLOSET, for It’s your secret place where if you start applying the principles of prayer (as we are covering here), you will be effecting amazing changes all over in your life and in the world.
This is all bothering on your heart and motive for all you do (including prayer). EXAMINE YOUR MOTIVES, BELOVED. You are blessed indeed. Gloryyyy!
