Acts 17:10-11 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
When I tell you from God’s word, not to follow anything blindly, I am admonishing you to do like the Bereans did. The Bible says, “they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” And you know what? the Bible calls them NOBLE and fair-minded for doing that.
Be like the Bereans, be fair-minded and open-minded; don’t just swallow anything given to you hook, line and sinker; when you hear anything, be diligent and search the scriptures for yourself and the Lord will give you understanding. This is how you will grow.
Unless you don’t care about your accountability and your standing before God then you can go ahead and follow anything blindly. But just know that, you will be accountable and responsible for your beliefs. Don’t try to put that on anybody.
Do you know why there is a lot of deception and misguiding in the church? One of the reasons is that a lot of us church-folks are lazy-minded. We don’t like to think and study and research into things. So anything goes, and people get away with misinformation and indoctrination. But if you will be a great learner, one rule of thumb is to QUESTION EVERYTHING. Any teacher, whether of the Bible or not, who is afraid of questioning has question marks on what they are teaching? Be weary of such persons. May the peace of God garrison your heart and mind in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
