Romans 14:21-23 It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
FAITH IS A VERY PERSONAL THING. So don’t appraise or condemn another on the basis of your personal faith. The Living Bible says, “Don’t flaunt your faith in front of others who might be hurt by it”.
Do you determine whether someone is fat or lean because they don’t fit into your customized dress? No, obviously. Same is your faith.
Paul argues that, one guy’s faith permits him to eat everything while another guy can only eat vegetables per his faith. One lady believes we should worship on Sunday while another says Saturday is the Sabbath. EVERY ONE IS RIGHT ACCORDING TO THEIR FAITH. NO ONE IS WRONG.(Rom 14:2-6) There are definitive doctrinal matters pertaining to salvation where the Bible is firm on what is right and wrong, but a lot of these side issues are left to individual faith.
Your faith is strong and you don’t take medicine; thank God for your life. But don’t look down and condemn the brother who is still building faith in his pain, and believing God as he takes his medicine. If there is any love in you, you won’t do that.
The key is, whatever level your faith is at, EACH ONE SHOULD BE FULLY CONVINCED AND CONVICTED IN HIS OWN MIND, for if you proceed to do anything that you are not convicted about, you are acting in sin. Shalom to you!
GRACEFUL MORNING
