Once upon a time, I met this guy who asked me why I’m always moving from one fellowship meeting to another, why I always looked busy with church activities, and whether I don’t get tired? There, I smiled and said “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”(Philippines 4:13); I explained further that the strength and grace from God is incessant. (Jeremiah29:11). Then this guy said, that he doesn’t believe he could be that committed. Hmmmm! this is heart breaking ooo, my dear friends, and I know many of us have this same thought as that guy. Well, God didn’t promise us an easy journey but He did promise that we would never have to fight alone for He will always be with us.
Earth is not a place for us to come and just have fun and depart… No, we have been charged with a mandate which we need to stay focused on and ensure its fulfillment.
We must come to the full knowledge of God and work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippines 2:12) to be able to grow into the perfect stature of Christ(maturity). By this we will be saved from the negative wiles in this world, schemed by the devil to destroy God’s people. So that we won’t miss out on inheriting the Kingdom of God and its inheritance that He has promised us.
The believer has to be transformed (Ephesians 4:11-16). We must not remain as babes who are tossed ‘to and fro’ by the storms of life like a ship on a sea.(Ephesians 4:14). The believer must get to the point of maturity which will be clearly expressed in his/her words and deeds (our thinking and understanding). A point where our speech will not be reckless but will prove that Christ is formed in us and not only that we are in Christ; because you can be in Christ but Christ would not be formed in you. Yes, that’s possible. Let’s focus on doing the Father’s will, by making hay while the sun shines and not follow the things of this world. For scripture says… ‘But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
We have to continually feed on God’s word and meditate on it to reach the maturity stage. We need to be in the right company of people for the assurance of our growth (Proverbs 13:20); Stirring up the gift of the Holy Spirit in us by fellowship and being sensitive to the inward witness (Romans 8:14). Let’s commit ourselves to reaching out and winning souls for the Lord and helping to disciple the won souls in Christ Jesus. Having a habitual prayer life will surely guarantee that we and the new souls grow in Christ Jesus. Caring and providing for them, teaching and nourishing them with the word will certainly equip and empower them to be rooted in Christ.
Until we have this mental renovation we will never cease being Nepios (babes) in Christ Jesus; Because in Christ, your physical age has got nothing to do with your spiritual maturity. DON’T BE AN OLD MAN IN DIAPERS – GROW UP.
Beloved, as militants of the Lord, we must not grow weary for we have a mandate to fulfill and we must start now, this time that we have life and strength. I pray that as believers we will all have a renewal of mind and come to the level of perfection and permanency in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Hallelujah !!
