Matthew 22:11-14 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Jesus gave an illustration about the kingdom of God – that it is like a king(God) who arranged a wedding for his son(Jesus) and his bride (The Church).
The king sent out his servants to invite those selected for the wedding but they refused. So he sent the servants to make an open invitation to everyone on the streets both good and bad – so the gospel came to us all irrespective of our state, and whosoever believes is a potential constituent of the bride. But something interesting happened during the ceremony: the king found a man who was present but without a wedding garment, and he was cast out. Which means, even though you have been called to the marriage, you will automatically disqualify yourself if you are not dressed in a wedding garment.
This is what I am saying to you. You have heard it being said that the church is the bride of Christ. Well, according to the word of God, THE CHURCH IS NOT YET THE BRIDE…WE ARE NOW BECOMING THE BRIDE. AND NOT ALL OF US WILL MAKE THE FINAL CONSTITUTION OF THE BRIDE OF CHRIST – BECAUSE SOME WILL DISQUALIFY THEMSELVES BY THEIR UNREADINESS WITH THEIR WEDDING GARMENT.
MANY are called…but FEW are chosen. Will you be part of the few? Then make yourself ready with your ACTS/DEEDS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; Perform good works; Live for the Lord.
Beloved, our eternal appearance is at stake here; WE CANNOT CONTINUE TO LIVE ANYHOW IN THE NAME OF GRACE. Be blessed!
GRACEFUL MORNING
