Matthew 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
To men, once someone says, “I accept Jesus as Lord” we assume that the person is saved. But Jesus says, it must be more than a lip confession. “NOT EVERYONE WHO SAYS, LORD LORD SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.” The person must truly believe in the heart. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
But you and I cannot see someone’s heart ordinarily, so how do we determine that a person is truly saved? Well, I guess it’s not unto us to make that determination. This is solely between God and the individual, the Holy Spirit bearing witness. So I present to you that, THERE ARE MANY WHO HAVE SAID THE SINNER’S PRAYER BUT ARE NOT SAVED. Why? Because the confession must follow a DEEP-HEARTED BELIEVE, else it’s not registered in the realm of the spirit.
In my school evangelisms, I have met people who come forward to give their lives to Christ, and when you interrogate them, they tell you they have done this before. So what happened the first time? Did it not work? Why are they here the 2nd and the 3rd time. Did they understand and believe the gospel the first time? Or did they not?
When we corner people to make an ‘Acceptance of Christ’ decision without proper understanding, repentance and conviction, are they really converted? I will leave you to answer that! Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you through Christ Jesus Our Lord. Say Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
