Matthew 13:24‭-‬25‭, ‬29‭-‬30 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way…. But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”

At that time when Jesus told this parable, the Jews were very familiar with tares growing on their fields. Tares were a kind of weed called Darnel(Lolium Temulentum). And the TARES and the WHEAT resemble themselves so much such that the Jews called the tares, “Bastard Wheat”.

Infact, there are three main stages of growth here:

THE EARLY STAGE where the tares and wheat are indistinguishable outwardly. They look just the same and not even the farmers can tell them apart. This is where you will see the false and counterfeit brethren and prophets mixed with the visible church; and unless by spiritual knowing/discernment you cannot tell the difference between the good and the bad.

This is one of the flaws of humanity: We can only judge by observation. But you will find that, in this world, things  are not what they always appear to be. Someone may appear good but may be very bad; And another may seem bad but may yet be good. Trying to classify by observation at this stage is dangerous, because you can easily label wrongly.

That is why the scriptures have admonished us to, JUDGE NOTHING BEFORE ITS TIME. It is in the fullness of time, that we can see completely what is and what is not. This is why in the parable, the master said to the servants,

“ ‘No,’ don’t attempt to uproot the tares , ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest.”

DON’T BE TOO QUICK TO LABEL AND JUDGE PEOPLE BY OBSERVATION – YOU MAY BE WRONG. Be admonished, dearly beloved.

                 GRACEFUL MORNING
