Hebrews 12:7‭-‬8 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

What must be your response to the word that comes to chasten you? What posture do you take when God is reproofing you through His Word? Do you assign the Word to someone else? There are people who, every Word of God they hear is for someone else; its never for them. Whoever you are, understand that, THE WORD OF GOD WHICH HASN’T CHANGED YOU MAY NOT CHANGE OTHERS THROUGH YOU. You become an empty gong, making noise with it.

Then there are others who when God’s Word comes to chasten them, they despise and ignore it, or snub it. But you must understand what the scripture says that,

“But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.”

You are simply not a legitimate son or daughter if you cannot be disciplined or chastened by the Lord. There are children who have exalted themselves beyond discipline; no matter what they do, their parents cannot reproof and rebuke them because of the way they will respond. That is a very dangerous place to put yourself, because that sets you up for the 2nd level of chastening.

Don’t be a bastard – Don’t despise chastening, because it’s good for your improvement. Hallelujah! Be blessed!
