1 John 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

Sometimes, believers think when bad things happen to them, it may be God causing it. One gentleman said to me, “I think God is trying to teach me a lesson with this sickness”. He confided in me that he had lived a promiscuous life and God has sent the disease to teach him a lesson. I said to him, “A THOUSAND TIMES NO. THAT’S NOT MY FATHER. GOD IS LIGHT AND IN HIM IS NO DARKNESS AT ALL. God will not teach you a lesson by inflicting you with sickness, disaster and troubles”.

 If you had the means, will you put cancer in your baby girl to punish her for some disobedience? Would you? If you were a father and your child did something wrong, will you teach him a lesson by putting his hand in burning fire? No, you wouldn’t. That would be very cruel for even human standards,  right?. If anything at all, you would quickly pull your child out of the fire and give him medical aid so he will be well.

Even though you might have warned your child not to play around the fire and he disobeyed and got burnt by his own actions, a father’s instincts is to help the child out of the dangers of the fire. So the burning of the fire was not engineered by the father, as much as any bad situation in your life is not brought by God.

God is not the one who inflicts you with trouble and evil. God loves you and has only goodness for you.

You have to understand that, “God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” Your Heavenly Father is not the one sending sicknesses and diseases upon you because you did something wrong. You are His Child and He loves you too much to do that to you. Believe in your Father’s Love, beloved.
