Luke 11:1-2 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” So He said to them, “When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Romans 8:15-16 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
When the disciples asked to be taught ‘How to pray’, it’s interesting to me that Jesus actually taught them. And the first thing he taught them is to APPROACH THE FATHERHOOD OF GOD WHEN YOU PRAY.
A lot of people do not get answers to their prayers because they approach God as a grudging and unwilling supreme being from which requests have to be painfully extracted. They think God is angry with them because of their sins. A thousand times NO. Please understand this, that HE IS YOUR FATHER.
Let me ask you a question, will your earthly father refuse to pay your fees and allow you drop out of school because you refused to do the dishes?
No matter what the child does, the father does not refuse to pay his fees; or starve her to death; or remove him from under his roof. Even earthly fathers don’t do that(though some might), how much more our Heavenly Father? Settle this in your heart, GOD IS YOUR FATHER.
In prayer, don’t just come to him as God. Come to him as a child will approach A FATHER for what he wants – and you are assured to receive a FATHERLY RESPONSE. Your week is truly blessed in Jesus Name. Amen!
OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN
GRACEFUL MORNING
