Hosea 4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
Micah 2:10 “Arise ye, and depart; for this is not your rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy you, even with a sore destruction.”
One of my students upon hearing me teach about the separation the believer must have with the world, asked, “If we are supposed to separate completely with the world and with unbelievers, then we cannot do a lot of things oo?”
No. We are not saying the believer should not talk with unbelievers or trade with the world, and so forth. It will be almost impossible to live in this world like that. In fact, the Apostle Paul talked about this in one of his epistles. Let’s read it:
1 Corinthians 5:9-10
I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people— not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world.
We may not completely avoid all contact with the world, but being in close intercourse with filth will definitely POLLUTE you. That is why God commands you to depart from amongst them. There is a saying that, ‘If you lie down with dogs, you rise up with fleas’. Keeping and nurturing fellowship with the polluted will definitely pollute and destroy you eventually. Listen to the voice of wisdom:
COME OUT FROM AMONGST THEM AND BE YE SEPARATE sayeth the Lord. Amen! Blessed weekend!
GRACEFUL MORNING
