James 1:22-24 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, DECEIVING YOUR OWN SELVES. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

This truth is simple but very important: GOD WANTS YOU TO HEAR HIS WORD AND SET OUT TO SIMPLY DO IT, NO MATTER HOW INCONGRUOUS IT SEEMS WITH YOUR PRESENT STATE.

How do I mean?

The reason why some believers live a substandard life is because THEY DON’T KNOW WHO THEY ARE. So you will find the Bible saying ‘KNOW YE NOT, KNOW YE NOT, KNOW YE NOT’ many times.

Pastor James explains that anytime you find the believer who is born of God, living a different life from the Word, THEY ARE DECEIVING THEMSELVES. He explains that it’s like a man standing in front of the mirror and seeing an image of himself in there. That’s his true image, and when he leaves the dressing room and steps out, he must not forget the appearance of himself he saw. God says the image you see in the Word of God is YOUR NATURAL FACE. THAT’S THE REAL YOU. But many see that image, (that they are God’s Righteousness for instance). They go out and they FORGET that they are God’s Righteousness and do all sort of things that does not reflect Righteousness. Deceiving themselves in the process. Understand that YOU ARE LIVING A DECEPTIVE LIFE IF YOU ARE NOT LIVING ACCORDING TO GOD’S IMAGE OF YOU IN HIS WORD. You are God’s child and you have His Nature. That’s a very BIG thing if you can understand it. Praise God!

ALL THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD YOU SEE IN THE WORD OF GOD ARE YOURS TO MANIFEST TOO BECAUSE YOU ARE GOD’S IMAGE. Hallelujah!
