Ephesians 1:6-7 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
One of the beautiful spiritual blessings we have received in Christ is REDEMPTION, FORGIVENESS AND REMISSION OF SINS. Understand this, that the man in Christ has already been forgiven and declared NOT GUILTY from his sins (past, present, and future sins).
You were dead in sin and trespasses; sentenced to bondage and death because the wages of sin is death. There was no way out. Then one man came and opted to take your place. He became your SIN SUBSTITUTE and took all your sin and its consequences, AND DIED ON THE CROSS FOR IT. THERE IS THEREFORE NOW NO CONDEMNATION FOR YOU WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS. Glooooory! Jesus became condemned so you will become acquitted. This Is what we call The Gospel.
THE MAN IN CHRIST HAS OBTAINED ETERNAL FORGIVENESS AND ETERNAL REDEMPTION IN CHRIST. This means that, so long as you are in Christ your sins have been paid for.
Infact, what the believer received is not just forgiveness, but REMISSION OF SINS. It’s a total blotting out such that there is not even any record of it again. You know the way some people like to say, that God will display all your sins on judgement day on a big screen…blah blah blah? Well, that’s not true at all for the child of God. GOD DOESN’T HAVE ANY RECORDS OF THE BELIEVER’S SIN – because you already paid for it when Christ paid through death. And so they were all erased from God’s record books when you accepted Christ.
This is why God exclaims in
Hebrews 8:12 that,
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
The man in Christ does not have a problem with sin at all. JESUS COMPLETELY CARRIED YOUR SINS WITH HIM TO THE CROSS, AND NAILED IT THERE. YOU HAVE BEEN DECLARED ‘NOT GUILTY’ IN CHRIST. Can you believe and receive this blessing? Hallelujah!
