2 Timothy 1:6 AMPC That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].
2 Peter 1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance
The difference in the expressions of the anointings and the graces and gifts of God that we have received, is due to the fact that some of us have been careful to STIR UP AND KEEP BURNING the fire whiles some have not.
Paul said to his son Timothy,
‘That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God’
Two people might receive the same gift but one’s gift might be alive and the other dead, due to how they both maintain and utilise the gift. It’s like the story of the talents which Jesus narrated in Matthew 25, where instead of putting to use his talents, one guy went to bury it. Most of us, God’s people are like that guy, we have buried the graces and giftings which God has freely lavished upon us, and we walk on in darkness as though we were never anointed. But we were supposed to STIR UP that gift, fan the flames of that anointing you have received, rekindle the embers of that spiritual ability. Keep that fire burning so it can be of use to many. But how can I do that?, one may ask.
BY CONSISTENT PRAYER keep the fire of God within you burning. Don’t let it dissipate into ashes, keep putting the wood of the WORD OF GOD into it and keep praying. Then as you do that, don’t stay idle, STEP OUT AND MINSTER to someone. Put the anointing to use, pray for someone, teach another person, make some disciples of Christ here and there. And before you realise, your little fire has become a wild bush fire that cannot be stopped. Hallelujah.
This is the life that every child of God has been called to live. Beloved STIR UP the gift of God within you. YOU ARE GREATLY ANOINTED. Be blessed. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
