I Thessalonians 2:13 NKJV [13] For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.
Galatians 4:14 KJV And my temptation which was in my flesh ye despised not, nor rejected; but received me as an angel of God, even as Christ Jesus.
How do you give reception to God’s Word, so that it is received and not fall by the wayside of your heart?
There are a few things you must do. The first is that YOU MUST RECEIVE THE WORD AS GOD’S WORD UNTO YOU, AND NOT AS THE WORD OF A MAN. This effectively affects the attitude, the reverence and the importance you accord the Word. And that eventually dictates whether that word is welcome into your heart or not. That’s what the Thessalonians did, and the Bible says they were noble for doing that.
If you have reverence for the Word of God, then you will have reverence for the messenger that brings it to you. Paul said the Galatians received him as an angel of God, and even as Christ Jesus. Imagine you received a call informing you that the president of the country wants to visit you in your home. How excited and happy and honored will you feel? How well will you prepare for that meeting, and make sure every item is in its proper place? You might probably not be able to sleep well the night before. And you will certainly not doze in that meeting.
If the child of God will treat his church meetings as a meeting with God, the word of God spoken will have premium, and will be fully received into the heart and bear fruits. Praise God Forevermore!
GRACEFUL MORNING
