I Samuel 3:8-10 NKJV [8] And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you did call me.” Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. [9] Therefore Eli said to Samuel, “Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, ‘Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.’ ” So Samuel went and lay down in his place. [10] Now the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”
Another way of ensuring good reception for God’s word is to RESPOND TO THE WORD that comes to you. God will speak to you through many means: through a prophecy, through a declaration, through a song, through a prayer, through many sources. But one key thing you must always do is to RESPOND TO THAT WORD if it is truly yours.
This was what the prophet Eli taught little Samuel, on how to respond to God. Samuel didn’t know it was God calling out to him, and so long as he didn’t respond, the Lord did not also release what he had wanted to give. But after the 3rd time Samuel responded per Eli’s direction and then God spoke to him.
YOU MUST ALWAYS RESPOND TO EVERY WORD GOD BRINGS TO YOU, whether in church or in your own closet. You can respond with an AMEN, with a shout, a jump or a dance, you can respond with an offering. However you do it, you must respond if that word will be properly received by you.
Many people come to church and their mouths are sealed till they leave. That’s a very bad habit, and you are likely to miss out on blessings meant for you just because you won’t respond to it. When a letter bearing your name is mentioned and you don’t respond, that letter will not be giving out and you might never receive what message it contained for you. ALWAYS RESPOND TO GOD’S WORD UNTO YOU, FOR THAT’S HOW YOU AFFIRM AND SEAL THE BLESSING IT CONTAINS. Praise God Forevermore!
GRACEFUL MORNING
