I have usually asked people around me, on their birthdays, “What gift do you want from me? Ask anything and I will provide it.” That’s an audacious thing to do, right? What if a request is made that I can’t provide? Surprisingly, I am usually often disappointed by the requests I get: some don’t make any requests at all, and others make very feeble requests. For some reason, nobody tells me, “I want a car”, or “Get me a jet”. Maybe they look at me and have an estimate of what they think I can provide; But what if they were wrong in their estimation of my ability and wealth? I am sure if Elon Musk or Bill Gates gave them that blank check, the requests might be different.
Jesus said, WHATSOEVER YOU SHALL ASK THE FATHER IN MY NAME, HE WILL GIVE IT TO YOU. Whaaat? Listen to what Jesus said to the blind guy who was begging along the streets of Jericho, “What do you want me to do for you?” (Luke 18:35-42)
Such AUDACITY!
The bottom line is this: THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT YOU CAN ASK OR THINK THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GOD ‘IN HIS NAME’. And I keep telling you, Jesus didn’t add any conditions to it. The limitations are only in your own mind. Why don’t you drop those limits and believe. Hallelujah!
Philippians 2:9-11
“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
CHRIST JESUS has obtained the greatest and highest name in all of the three worlds – in heaven, in earth and under the earth. Not only in this current existence does His name have the preeminence, but also in the worlds or ages to come.
“Which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.” (Ephesians 1:20-21)
Simply put,
THE NAME CHRIST JESUS IS THE NUMERO UNO AND HIGHEST NAME IN ALL THE KNOWN AND UNKNOWN UNIVERSE OR MULTIVERSES. The power is not necessarily in the spelling or sound of the name, but it’s in what the name represents. This is what I mean: there might be many “Nkrumah”‘s in Ghana or even Africa but “Kwame Nkrumah” represents something honorable in Ghana. Not everyone called “Nkrumah” is related to him and inspires honor. But when you meet someone who bears that name and is a son or daughter of “Kwame Nkrumah” , you accord honor or respect to that person because of the relation.
Likewise, there are many Jesus’s before Jesus Christ was born. And after he died there has been many. Infact, every “Joshua” you know is actually Jesus from the Hebrew. And then there is the different renditions of Jesus in the different languages of the world. So you see, it’s not in the spelling or sound of the name (For instance, it is pronounced “Yesu Kristo” in Ewe), but it’s the significance and authority which this JESUS CHRIST holds. That’s what you must understand. “In his name” resides the greatest position in all the worlds. And that name is YOURS. Shout Glooooory!
That is why Ephesians 1:20-23 says,
which He produced in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion [whether angelic or human], and [far above] every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and world but also in the one to come. And He put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers].
When you mention ‘the name of Jesus’, what makes it different from “Jesus O’Neill”? Did you know that there is a footballer in England called “Gabriel Jesus”? When he is about to score a goal and spectators shout, “JESUS”, they are shouting for a goal from Gabriel. What distinguishes your mention of the name JESUS from every other Jesus in the world is the UNDERSTANDING and REVELATION you have concerning that name; not the sound or spelling.
When I stand in prayer and I mention the name Jesus, with the eyes of my spirit I picture every bacteria and microbe bowing; I see every sickness bowing in submission to the authority of the name; I imagine every situation completely subjected and unable to remain the same; I see everything in every realm succumbing. For me, it’s not a religious ritual of ending my prayer with ‘in Jesus name. Amen’. No.
Listen to how Peter put it:
“Jesus Christ, Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.” – 1 Peter 3:22
Kalaba! Zongolobious! shabaratus! All Authority, and All Power, and All Dominion, whether they be of Angels, or of men, or of beast ARE SUBJECT TO THE AUTHORITY OF THE NAME CHRIST JESUS. The day you truly catch this, you will become a miracle worker with that name in your lips. That’s how powerful God has made you in this world.
I pray for you, that the Lord will grant you enlightenment and deep understanding of what you can do ‘in the name of Jesus’ in Jesus name. Amen!
