Luke 12:15
And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Matthew 6:25-26
“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
I once approached a gentleman with the Gospel, and he said, “will this put money in my pocket?” He wasn’t interested if it didn’t make money. But he should have been interested because it involved his soul and his eternity.
It’s like that for many of us: We don’t have time for anything else if it doesn’t bring money. The pursuit of money has become everything to us. You wake up at dawn and return at dusk in pursuit of money. You can’t make time to pray any longer, you don’t make time for God’s Word because you will be late. You no longer do anything for God’s kingdom and you miss services because you have to make more money. Your own family hardly enjoys you now.
WHAT SHALL IT PROFIT A MAN IF HE GAINS THE WHOLE WORLD AND YET LOSE HIS SOUL?
Jesus said,
“A Man’s Life Consisteth Not In The Abundance Of The Things Which He Possesseth”. My brother, THERE’S MORE TO LIFE THAN MAKING MONEY AND AMASSING WEALTH. DON’T LET THE PURSUIT OF MONEY ROB YOU OF THE TRUE ESSENCE OF LIFE. DON’T MISS THE FOREST FOR THE TREES. Selah!
