Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ
There is something fundamentally missing in your life if all you live for, and all you labor for in this world ends at your death. For the believer, there is something beyond the shores of death, which your heart is set on.
So Paul exclaimed in 1 Corinthians 15:32,
If I fought wild beasts in Ephesus with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”
For everyone that has believed in Jesus Christ, His death and His resurrection produces in your heart A BLESSED HOPE of the GLORIOUS APPEARING OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST; and this glory in resurrection is applicable to you.
Our lives do not end at death, and so our living should not be centered on worldly possessions, desires and accomplishments. IF IN THIS LIFE ONLY WE HAVE HOPE IN CHRIST, WE ARE OF ALL MEN MOST MISERABLE. (1 Corinthians 15:19)
The man who has well understood this our BLESSED HOPE is able to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts – and live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world. This man understands that HE IS IN THE WORLD, BUT HE IS NOT OF THE WORLD. Are you such a man? Selah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
