Romans 10:3-4 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Do you know there was a time in the church, where people subjected themselves to temporal physical punishment because of their sins so that they can earn God’s forgiveness? People also believed that they would spend some time in purgatory after death, to purge their sins by the fire, so as to qualify for heaven. It was called PENANCE and INDULGENCE and FLAGELLANTISM. Where did we get these things from? These are all traditions of men created by religion.

“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.” Martin Luther(Revd) said, in his ignorance, he had to walk on broken pieces of glass in order to appease God. There are people who still do this today. It’s amazing. We feel we must suffer something for our sin, no wonder we cannot accept God’s eternal forgiveness.

Beloved, these things ought not to be so. DON’T LET THE SUFFERING AND DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST BE IN VAIN. If you insist on doing something to earn God’s forgiveness, then you are saying that Jesus’ sacrifice is inadequate and ineffective; you are saying that Adam’s sin that made man a sinner was more potent than Jesus death that brought forgiveness and salvation. But that cannot be so..

For by one sacrifice He(Jesus) has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. -Hebrews 10:14

Praise God! JESUS PAID FOR OUR SINS ON THE CROSS AND GAVE US FORGIVENESS BY HIS BLOOD. Have a glorious weekend in Jesus name. Amen!
