Habakkuk 2:20 But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
Zechariah 2:13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.
We all know too well about petition in prayer – where you talk to the Lord about your needs. But prayer is not a monologue; it’s a DIALOGUE. After you have poured out your heart to the Lord, you have to keep silent and listen to Him to RECEIVE from Him.
Unfortunately, that’s where a lot of us miss it. We’ve not been properly trained on this. We come to God and talk and talk and talk, then we leave. We have no time to listen to His response and receive what He has for us. Imagine you going to have a dialogue/meeting with your earthly father or boss. Do you just walk in and talk and make your complaints or requests, and then get up and leave? NO. You always listen to their response. QUESTION: Why don’t you listen to God in prayer?
The reason is, most of us do not know how to listen and receive from God. And just as the prophet Eli taught little Samuel how to listen and identify God’s voice and respond to him, we all must learn to do that.
This is a very important part of prayer: LEARNING TO HEAR AND RECEIVE WHAT GOD IS SAYING TO YOU. That’s why Habakkuk says, “Let all the earth keep silence before him – and listen.” Be blessed and have a glorious weekend in His name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
