Matthew 18:6 “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
It’s true that, sometimes your leader may lead you to do something you didn’t know before but it will end up being very beneficial unto you.
Following blindly is great when the person you are following goes the right way, but may be very disastrous when (s)he goes the wrong way. And the tragedy is, since you are following blindly you can’t tell.
No well meaning Pastor or leader should tell his followers to follow him blindly. The leader who is pure in heart should be able to tell his followers, DON’T FOLLOW ME IF YOU SEE I’M GOING WRONG. Because at the end of the day, we are all to imitate Christ (even though sometimes we do that by imitating those ahead of us).
Heed this warning: DON’T FOLLOW ANY MAN BLINDLY FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. At the end of life, you are accountable to God for where you end up, and your excuse cannot be that, “I didn’t know. I just followed my Pastor”. You will be responsible and accountable for who or what you chose to follow, whether you did it blindly or not.
There are great Pastors out there. But even the best of us make mistakes; and you shouldn’t follow all of that. Shalom!
GRACEFUL MORNING
