Luke 4:25-27 But I tell you truly, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, and there was a great famine throughout all the land; but to none of them was Elijah sent except to Zarephath, in the region of Sidon, to a woman who was a widow. And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed except Naaman the Syrian.”
Because you are so responsible for KEEPING those that God gives you, and are accountable for them, it’s expedient that you know who you are sent to and who you are not sent to.
There were many widows in Israel during that great famine, but Elijah was sent to the widow in Zarephath alone. Why?
Listen to wisdom: You will die before your time if you try to please and impress everyone. You must know with utmost certainty, those to whom God has sent you to, and focus on delivering unto them…
Don’t expend your energy and time everywhere. In business parlance, we say, KNOW YOUR TARGET MARKET and tailor your product for them. Don’t kid yourself, you are not ubiquitous; you are not needed by everyone. And the earlier you learn this lesson the better for you. You will save yourself from a lot of wasted efforts. And whether you like it or not, you are not needed by everyone and hence not sent to everyone.
Even Jesus, the King of Kings knew this and he said,
“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.” -(John 6:37).
Wow! Even though Jesus came to die for the whole world, he knows that not all men will receive him. SAVE YOURSELF THE UNNEEDED STRESS – KNOW AND FOCUS ON WHO YOU HAVE BEEN SENT TO. Praise God!
GRACEFUL MORNING
