Galatians 1:15-16 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood
All through the Old Testament and to the New Testament, God has designed it that, His people will be the primary way through which He will reveal himself to the world.
True, we are saved by Grace and not by works; but the fact that we are saved by Grace doesn’t exempt us from works. Rather it sets us up for works, for we are saved UNTO WORKS.
“not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:9-10
Interestingly, these works that we are to do, must not be our works. It must be God’s Work in us and through us. Note that, GOD HAS PREPARED IN ADVANCE THESE WORKS THAT WE MUST DO. In fact, these are the only works that God will accept from us. Every other work is coming from your flesh or your self – and we know that no flesh can please God (no matter how hard it tries).
Herein is the subtle nature of our works. We should not remain lazy and fruitless in the name of Grace – we must work. But our works must not be our own works – they must be God’s WORK or WORKING in us.
God wants to reveal Christ in you to the world. That’s the whole point of Christianity: “TO REVEAL HIS SON IN ME”, Paul said. THAT’S IT – TO REVEAL CHRIST, NOT TO REVEAL YOUR FLESH OR YOUR EFFORTS OR YOUR GOODNESS(if you even have any). Hallelujah!
It’s going to be a beautiful weekend for you in Jesus name. Be blessed!
GRACEFUL MORNING
