Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26. That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27. That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

For ‘The Body Of Christ’ to become that Glorious Bride, she must undergo the washing of water by the Word. You see, there are 2 kinds of washing in the New Testament. There is,

1.The washing of Regeneration by the blood

2.The washing of water by the Word

You received the 1st one, the day you got born again. Your sins were blotted out by the blood in regeneration. But you must in addition go through the washing of water by the word to cleanse every imperfection and fault in your character and conduct. Infact, according to God’s word, you must be so cleansed such that there will be no SPOT or WRINKLE or ANY SUCH IMPERFECTION on you.

Take note, WITHOUT SPOT and WITHOUT WRINKLE. What does it mean?

WITHOUT SPOT refers to being free from all faults and moral defects in your character; like a woman without dark spots on her face and body.

And WITHOUT WRINKLE refers to living without any weakness or lack of strength; just as wrinkles appear on the aged and weak.

Jesus is a gentleman, he is not coming for an old bride with pimples and spots and wrinkles all over her face. HE IS COMING FOR A PERFECTED AND MATURED BRIDE. Are you one of them?
