One of the most striking and amazing things of this Jesus-Kind Of Love is that, IT ENDURES ALL THINGS without being weakened.
1 Corinthians 13:7 from the Amplified version says,
“Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], ENDURES ALL THINGS [WITHOUT WEAKENING].”
It doesn’t matter what you throw at it, it doesn’t matter the cross it carries, love doesn’t crack under pressure. In the midst of suffering and affliction and abuse and privation, the Jesus kind of love is immovable and unflinching. This is a wonderful mystery.
In Acts 5:40-42, when the council which was the supreme court at the time ARRESTED THE APOSTLES for preaching Jesus, they BEAT THEM, and they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus again, and let them go. But amazingly, they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And right after that, daily in the same temple [from which they were arrested and beaten and commanded not to preach], and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Wow! What on earth could make them that resilient?
Indeed, this is what distinguishes the Jesus love from natural human love. Man’s love can only take as much and soon gives up. BUT THERE’S A CERTAIN GRACE AND ABILITY IN THE JESUS-KIND OF LOVE THAT MAKES YOU ENDURE ALL THINGS. May you be strengthened and emboldened by this Grace to carry whatever cross you are bearing in Jesus name. Amen.
You see, the solution to the economic and labor problems suffocating us is not legislating new laws – The solution is this new-kind of Love that Jesus brought us. Our present world is filled with selfishness and wickedness everywhere. Everyone is seeking to swindle the other. The employer is cheating the employee, and the employee is doing same to the customer. Government officials are stealing from the national coffers and impoverishing the citizenry. Religious leaders are fleecing the flock. And there are fraudsters and con-men in every corner looking for someone to devour. Strikes and economic upheavals have become commonplace as a result.
What is the issue? Love is missing. When this Jesus-Kind Of Love is present, men will say what Paul said, that “I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of the many.”– 1 Corinthians 10:33. Employees will not be defrauding their employers with their work input. The government will give citizens their due, and every one will be looking out for the profit and interest of their neighbor. Wow! What societies we would have! LET IT START WITH YOU. LET LOVE REIGN BY YOU. BE THE JESUS THAT YOUR NEIGHBORS AND YOUR WORLD WOULD KNOW. LIVE A LIFE OF LOVE.
Romans 15:2-3 admonishes us that,
‘Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”’
In the old covenant/old testament, there were many laws; many Do’s and Don’t’s. But in the New, there is only one law – THE LOVE LAW. That is why love is the solution to every human problem there is and would be.
Romans 13:9-10 explains that,
“For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
A step out of love is a step into sin, because love is the fulfillment of the law. Which is why the child of God who is born of God and truly subjected to the Holy Spirit and led by love does not need the 1992 constitution to do the right thing. YOU WOULD LIVE ABOVE THE LAW. Not in the sense of breaking it, but fully fulfilling and outliving it. How? There is a higher law at work in your heart, driving you and leading your actions and words.
The reason why this is so, is that, the law is not made for the righteous, but for the sinner and the ungodly (1Tim 1:9). When Christ is born and truly unveiled in the heart of men, all the vices in society and in their lives will quietly walk away. The cheating, stealing and killing will cease, and LOVE will take their place. That is why I tell people, JESUS IS THE ANSWER. LOVE IS THE SOLUTION. May God’s LOVE fill your entire home and surrounding in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
