How did we encounter this God-Kind Of Love which we are to live by? How did God love us?
“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” – 1 John 4:9
The love of God is demonstrated in how He gave us Christ; and that is everything. Because when you understand the package called CHRIST, you will know that there’s nothing in God that is not in Christ. CHRIST IS THE COMPLETE COMPLETENESS OF ALL THAT IS IN GOD PUT IN MAN. And I am not exaggerating or even paraphrasing; that’s exactly what the text says in Colossians 1:19.
No wonder Romans 8:32 says, He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? In Christ, God gave me His all – and He left nothing out. OH, HOW HE LOVES US. Glooooory!
Romans 8:35-39 (TLB)
35 Who then can ever keep Christ’s love from us? When we have trouble or calamity, when we are hunted down or destroyed, is it because he doesn’t love us anymore? And if we are hungry or penniless or in danger or threatened with death, has God deserted us?
36 No, for the Scriptures tell us that for his sake we must be ready to face death at every moment of the day—we are like sheep awaiting slaughter; 37 but despite all this, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us enough to die for us.
38 For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.
I can read the above passage over and over and over again…CHRIST’S LOVE.
God’s Love gave us Christ Jesus; and CHRIST’S LOVE did the rest: He came, Took My Place, Suffered, Died, Descended Into Hell, Defeated Satan. He then Resurrected, Ascended, and is Exhaulted into the highest glory together with me. ALL BECAUSE HE LOVES ME. THAT IS CHRIST’S LOVE. What can separate us from the Love Of God which is in Christ Jesus? 😊😊😭
So what must we do in response to Christ’s love, and God’s love?
Understand this: LOVE SEES MEN THROUGH THE EYES OF FAITH – LOVE SEES WHAT WE WILL BECOME, NOT WHAT WE CURRENTLY ARE.
We have been seeing men through sense dominated eyes. Now we must see them as the Father sees them. Love sees men through the eyes of faith. That’s God’s love. When we were dead in our sins and far removed from him, God saw us through the eyes of faith that we will believe in the sacrifice of himself through his son Jesus Christ. He believed that we will want Eternal life and came to die for it. He overlooked all our flaws and failings and saw us perfected in the sacrifice of his son. Wow!
We must close our natural sense-ruled eyes and see men as the Father sees them (through Faith). He sees the poor made rich, the naked clothed, the wicked being so kind. When you see like this, there is no way you will not love people. You will love them in their flaws and inadequacies. But as long as we see them through sense-governed eyes we cannot love them like Jesus does.
Romans 5:8,10
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!
