I Corinthians 11:29-31 For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, NOT DISCERNING THE LORD’S BODY. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.
How many of us partook in the Lord’s supper over the weekend? Or have been partaking of that sacrament? And how many of us do it NOT DISCERNING THE LORD’S BODY? And as a result we bring judgement upon ourselves.
The spirit of ‘denominationalism’ or sectarianism is one of the very destructive problems confronting the Church of the living God.
One person says, ‘I prefer Presby’, another says ‘I like Methodist’, and yet another says, ‘I am Pentecostal’, one gentleman said, ‘we Catholics don’t fraternize with charismatics’. What at all is wrong with us?
Someone said to me, ‘I don’t listen to any messages if it’s not from Christ embassy’.
Christianity is pretty simple: IT’S DEVOTION TO CHRIST. He is the centrality of our faith. We have been called into Him; called into a relationship and fellowship and mutuality with Christ. Nothing else should matter more than that to you.
And you should be very careful and wary if any institution, or person becomes more important to you than Christ.
May this new week and new month of August bring you CHRIST joy and gladness in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
