1 Corinthians 2:12,13 “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Most often than not, the things most Christians pray to God for are things He has already given us in Christ Jesus. This makes the prayer request meaningless. Those requests are usually born out of unbelief and faithlessness, which is due to ignorance.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?
In fact, the difference between the unbeliever and the believer is this same KNOWLEDGE. Because the GRACE that brings salvation has actually appeared unto all men, but not all have received that knowledge yet. So the Apostle says in 2 Corinthians 4:4,
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
One of the tragedies of this life, is to have something but live as if you don’t have it, and suffer for it. I once watched a movie of a man who lived as a beggar on the streets, but unknown to him he owned a large estate and business willed to him by a benevolent man. This man begged for peanuts for survival though he was a millionaire. That’s not so different from how many of us, God’s children live. WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE HAVE.
That’s why the Bible said,
“that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.” STOP THE IRRITATING CRIES AND PRAYERS AND MAKE EFFORT TO KNOW WHAT GOD HAS ALREADY GIVEN YOU IN CHRIST JESUS. That should be one of your earnest heart desires. Hallelujah! Your week will be glorious! Say AMEN!
