James 5:10-11 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.
I told you before, that SUFFERING for Christ’s sake is part of the package – there are too many scriptural evidences for this, that it cannot be ignored. In fact, understand that, THE FOLLOWER OF JESUS HAS NOT ONLY BEEN CALLED TO BELIEVE IN JESUS, BUT ALSO TO SUFFER FOR HIS SAKE.
So Philippians 1:29 says that,
‘For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake’
And the reason for this is that,
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.(Romans 8:17)
And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation.(II Corinthians 1:7)
But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. (1 Peter 4:13)
I can go on and on, and add more supporting scriptures as evidence to this proposition that, SUFFERING FOR CHRIST IS PART OF OUR CHRISTIAN CALLING. It doesn’t sound nice but it’s the divine way of God to make us ready and qualified to be part of THE GLORY that shall be revealed in the end.
Cheer up beloved, IF YOU ARE IN CHRIST, YOUR END WILL BE GLORIOUS – You have been destined for that. Have a beautiful week in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
