Isaiah 49:4 AMPC Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in empty futility; yet surely my right is with the Lord, and my recompense is with my God.
1 Corinthians 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
We have just seen how all our works are built with one material or the other; building with GOLD or WOOD, SILVER or GRASS, PRECIOUS STONES or STUBBLE. And this amounts to the HOW=QUALITY of work done in the Lord. This explains the QUALITY of our works and how well they fulfilled the prescribed requirement or expected order. But that’s not all…
There is also the WHY=REASON/MOTIVE for the work you do. Irrespective of what you did and how you did it, if the motive behind it is wrong, it renders everything worthless. You will find that MOTIVE is actually the heart of the matter before God. And it’s so important to establish the right motive first before you do anything in the kingdom, else like Apostle Paul said, “You would have run in vain”.
There is nothing more disappointing in life, than a WASTED EFFORT. To be told that you have LABORED IN VAIN, like the Prophet Isaiah exclaimed,
“Then I said, I have labored in vain, I have spent my strength for nothing and in empty futility.” That is why you must take the matter of MOTIVE behind your works very seriously.
May the LOVE OF GOD fill all you do this week in Jesus name. Say AMEN!
GRACEFUL MORNING
