Job 42:1‭-‬3 Then Job answered the Lord and said: “I know that You can do everything, And that no purpose of  Yours can be withheld from You. You  asked,  ‘Who is this who hides counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.

When I preach that, God doesn’t send evil unto his children to teach them a lesson, people quickly point me to the  ‘Job situation’. They say, Job was a righteous man and God caused all that misfortune to happen to him.

Well, let’s start Job’s story from the end. At the end of that story, Job conceded that he was wrong, and that he was accusing God falsely. He repented and he said, “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.” (Job 42:5‭-‬6)

This is the man himself conceding he was wrong and not as righteous as initially assumed. But you will find self-appointed lawyers of Job accusing God even today on Job’s predicament.

Job had a part to play in his predicament (there’s not much space to expound on that here); and the devil was the orchestrator of all the afflictions that Job endured – not God. If God had any involvement at all, it was to standby and allow whatever was happening to happen because He knew Job was strong enough to come out of that situation with his faith intact.

God would not have allowed it, or would have stepped in if Job wasn’t able to bear it. That’s what THE LOVE OF GOD DOES FOR US. HE COMES TO RESCUE US FROM THE HOLE WE’VE DUG OURSELVES INTO BY HIS GRACIOUSNESS AND LOVE.

When your strength is failing and you can’t go on any longer, THE FATHER’S ARM WILL LIFT YOU UP. When your failings and weaknesses have placed you in a dark hole, THE FATHER’S LIGHT WILL FIND YOU. HIS LOVE NEVER FAILS. Shout Hallelujah!
