John 15:4-5,7 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you
According to God’s Word, there are a few things which if a believer will commit himself to, he will never be unfruitful in his walk with God. (I have counted 7 of those things). They are the 7 THINGS THE BELIEVER MUST DO TO GROW AND BE FRUITFUL CONTINUALLY.
The 2 most important things(out of the 7) the child of God must give intense attention to if he will be fruitful are:
●ABIDING in God’s presence through CONSISTENT PRAYER
●Letting God’s Word ABIDE in you
According to Jesus in the above passage in John 15, He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit. THE BELIEVER MUST STAY IN CLOSE CONNECTION TO HIS SOURCE, THE VINE, IN ORDER TO BE FRUITFUL. And there is no other way to do this besides prayer. It is true what C.H Spurgeon said, that, “The neglected closet is the beginning of all spiritual decline“.
Then secondly, GOD’S WORD must abide in you if you’re going to be a fruitful branch.*The serious child of God must interact with God’s Word by DESIRING, FEEDING, STUDYING, MEDITATING and ACTING UPON the Word of God continously.
If you do these two dimensions of ABIDING well enough, your fruitfulness will be inevitable. Hallelujah!
May you have a FRUITFUL MONTH OF MAY in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
