Matthew 10:37-39 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
The Greek word for Lord is KURIOUS, and it means:
MASTER
OWNER/POSSESOR
KING/CONTROLLER
So where there is a Lord, there must of necessity be a SLAVE/SERVANT, there must be a DISCIPLE, and there must be a SUBJECT/CITIZEN.
You cannot say Jesus is your Lord without assuming the place of a servant, disciple and subject. If He is your Master, then you must be His Disciple. If He is your Owner, then you must be His love-slave. If He is King, then you must be a Subject. You cannot have one without the other.
But herein lies the problem for a lot of us: We want Jesus to be our Lord, but we don’t want to be subjects – we want to do our own things. As a result, a number of things have taken the position of LORD in our lives. But Jesus was very emphatic about this. He said:
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” Matthew 10:37-38
WHO IS YOUR LORD? WHAT COMES FIRST IN YOUR LIFE? Is it your family? Is it your job? Is it your children? Is it money? Is it your spouse or your girlfriend? Is it your pastor? Whatever it is, if JESUS doesn’t occupy the first place in your life, then He is not REALLY your Lord, even though you say He is.
Friend, think about this very carefully: WHO IS YOUR LORD? Don’t rush to answer, think about it. Selah!
It’s going to be a beautiful week for you in Jesus precious name. Say AMEN!
GRACEFUL MORNING
