2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight

Have you heard the saying ‘The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer’? How true do you think that is? Well, it would be nice to say it’s not true, but it is. It is true due to the tendency to stay the thoughts on our current situation thereby creating more of the same condition. We humans are naturally very sensual beings, hence we tend to rely on what we see, hear and feel a lot. Once you can sense a certain condition, that will naturally occupy your thoughts and your mind. The problem with this is that, so long as you keep seeing that condition and staying your mind on it, it continues to create more of the same condition, bringing you an endless cycle of the situation. For ‘As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he’. So the rich, keeps seeing riches and keep getting richer, while the poor only sees poverty and hence cannot get out of it.

You must learn to FOCUS your thoughts on what you want to see, not on what you presently see. Remember your mind is a creative instrument; It brings into being whatever you strongly visualize, whether good or bad.

This is how as a child of God, you must learn to look at the true and eternal things which are not seen, and turn your mind from the undesirable condition that you are seeing with your eyes. YOU MUST NOT LOOK AT THE SEEN BUT RATHER AT THE UNSEEN. This is a mental mastery you must gain through a mental renewal. And God’s Word will greatly aid you with this.
