Psalms 8:3-5 [3] When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained, [4] What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him? [5] For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
Now that we have answered the questions, WHO AM I? WHERE AM I? WHAT HAVE I?, let’s proceed to understand our abilities in Christ – WHAT CAN I DO?
Your abilities are an offspring of your makeup or nature. In other words, YOU CAN ONLY DO WHAT IS CONSISTENT OR CONGRUOUS WITH YOUR NATURE.
Because you ARE you HAVE, and because you HAVE you CAN, and because you CAN you DO.
The fish can stay and swim in water easily because it is a fish and not a bird. It has fins and gills and features that allows it to live, move and have its abode in water, something the bird cannot do no matter how hard it tries. Similarly, when you take the fish out of water and put it on the land it will not survive for long. Its nature doesn’t allow it to have the characteristics to support the functionalities that sustains life on land. But this comes so easily to the bird or the cat.
So someone said,
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”
To excel in the fullness of what you can do in Christ, you must first know WHO YOU ARE and WHAT YOU HAVE IN CHRIST. Your achievements as a child of God will be based on your understanding of YOUR ‘Iamness’ in Christ. Hallelujah! Have a glorious week in His name. Amen!
