Matthew 10:37-39 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
Now we know that Lord means Master, Owner, Possessor. So where there is a Lord, there must of necessity be a servant or slave or disciple.
You cannot say Jesus is Lord without you assuming the place of a servant. If He is your Master, then you must be His disciple. You cannot have one without the other. And one important thing to note is that, THE MASTER’S WILL AND COMMAND COMES FIRST TO THE SERVANT/DISCIPLE.
But herein lies the problem for a lot of us – We want to do our own thing besides our Lord’s Will. A number of things have taken the position of master in our lives. Yet Jesus was very emphatic about this. He said:
“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” -Matthew 10:37-38
WHO IS YOUR LORD? WHAT COMES FIRST IN YOUR LIFE? Is it your family? Is it your job? Is it your children? Is it money? Is it your spouse or your girlfriend? Is it your pastor? Whatever it is, if JESUS doesn’t occupy the first place in your life, then He is not really your Lord, even though you say He is.
Friend, think about this very carefully: WHO IS YOUR LORD? Selah!
Have a wonderful week in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
