Matthew 20:25-28 Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles Lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Many are afraid of making Jesus Lord because of what they have seen of human Masters and Lords, and the phobia which that brings to them.
One gentleman said to me, “If making Jesus Lord of my life means forsaking everything, then I don’t know if I want to do that!” I understood where he was coming from and the fear he had – I had to help his understanding on the Lordship of Christ.
I have operated under certain human leaders or masters and I understand first hand what it feels like to be under such authority. Some men are just power drunk and want to control everything. They will terrorize and tyrannize you – they will really LORD IT OVER YOU as Jesus said. It’s the natural nature of man to subjugate, dominate and suppress others so that they will be the all in all. And many ‘spiritual leaders’ are still no different. Except a man is tamed and taught of Christ, he cannot do differently.
But the Lordship of Jesus is different. He came to serve and give His life as a ransom/exchange for ours in order to redeem us. JESUS WANTS YOU TO FORSAKE ALL SO THAT HE CAN GIVE YOU ALL. And I can tell you, His nothing is better than your all. You might not fully understand this until you have actually given up your all to have Him.
Be at peace beloved, and enter the rest which is in the Lordship of Christ.
It’s going to be a beautiful week for you in Jesus name. Say Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
