When you have desire for God, just come to him and talk to him about anything. Prayer must not necessarily be in Biblical language with “Thou’s” and “Thee’s” and “Beholds”. Remember the 1st law of prayer? It must be as natural as a child talking to a loving father.

Isaiah 1:18
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Someone who wanted to pray but did not know how to begin once asked a friend what to do. The friend advised him:
“Sit down alone in your room. Put an empty chair opposite you and imagine that Jesus is sitting on that chair. Talk to him as you would talk to your closest friend. And He will hear you for He is indeed your closest friend.”

Well, that’s not a bad advise on where to start from. But it’s even better than that, because this Jesus is not just close to you. HE IS IN YOU, if you are a believer. He has his residence in your heart, and you can talk to him anyday, anywhere, anytime. God is not much concerned about perfect grammar and vocabulary and so forth. He wants you to just come and reason with Him.
A lot of us engage prayer only when there are emergencies. When there is trouble and sickness and crisis then we remember there is God and prayer. These things ought not to be so.
Yes, there are times that prayer will be intensive than other times, but the child of God must have a constant daily appointment with the Father in prayer. Prayer must be always/everyday.
I once read of SUSANNA WESLEY, mother of John Wesley(founder of Methodist church) and Charles Wesley(composer of about 6500 well known hymns). Although she had 19 children, she will always make time for prayer. It is said she will spend 3 hours everyday in prayer under her prayer cloth. In that state, all her children were drilled to know that mummy had an appointment with God and must not be disturbed. Are you surprised the kind of children she produced and raised?

Listen child of God, YOU ARE NOT BUSY – YOU SIMPLY HAVEN’T CULTIVATED THE RIGHT DESIRE/APPETITE FOR GOD. Start cultivating that now. Glory to God!

James 2:23
And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Prayer must not be a burdensome task. If Abraham became a friend of God, we have been brought even more closer to God by what Jesus did. Hence, in prayer, talk to God as you would your best friend.
Is it not shameful when you have a friend, but you only call him when you are in need and want something from him? Which is why we must not treat our friendship we Jesus like that. MAKE A CONSTANT DAILY APPOINTMENT WITH THE FATHER – AND KEEP IT.

Someone said to me, “Sometimes I don’t feel like praying!” I replied, “Still honor the appointment and pray, for prayer is not a feeling.” Whether you feel like doing it or not is not very important. Simply do it because you have an appointment with your Father. Your week is truly blessed. Glory to His Name
