If we approach the FATHERHOOD dimension of God in prayer, we will find that Our Father is more willing to give than we are to request. The truth is this, THAT YOU DON’T HAVE THE ABILITY TO THINK ANYTHING THAT GOD CANNOT DO. IF YOU CAN THINK IT, GOD CAN DO IT.
Jesus told 2 important parables on prayer – which contain some important lessons on the fatherhood of God, which we must consider:

Luke 11:5-8
And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

This is not saying that God is unwilling to give to you, but is rather saying:
“Every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” -Luke 11:10
You know the way some people think? They say, “oh, I don’t want to bother God.” You? Bother God? Come on! He said, ASK OF ME AND I WILL GIVE YOU THE NATIONS. In the arms of my Father, I have made many strange requests for people and for myself and I have seen the Father done it over and over again. Don’t be afraid, COME TO DADDY AND ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE. AMEN.

The 2nd parable Jesus spoke was the wicked judge who would not deliver justice except when bribed. But by the widow’s persistent asking he gave her the request.(Luke 18:1-8)
Many people interpret the 2 parables of the UNWILLING FRIEND and WICKED JUDGE as God, who you have to beg and beg and beg in prayer. That’s so far from who God is. Infact, it’s the opposite of the intended meaning of the parables.

Jesus is saying that, even if men who are so unwilling and wicked can grant your request when you persist, HOW MUCH MORE SHALL YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER WHO IS WILLING AND LOVING GRANT YOU WHAT YOU ASK FOR IN PRAYER – (Lk 11:13). If you understand this, then you don’t need to beg God for anything in life. Don’t you get this? HE IS YOUR FATHER.
Until you change your perception about prayer and God, you won’t get anything from Him even though He has already made arrangements for your every need. Come to DADDY as how a little girl can walk boldly to his loving daddy and make your demand in faith. And I tell you, YOU WILL RECEIVE IT.

Herein is our confidence in prayer: That God has given us proof; enough proof of His generosity and providence – because of his fatherhood. He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? – Rom 8:32
The child who knows her place and knows she has a loving father can approach him at anytime for anything. It doesn’t matter if the father is the president of the country – He is father to his child and she can approach him freely without any appointments or protocols. She talks to her father in a way that ministers don’t dare to do. The audacity of a child who knows his father as A FATHER and not as a president.

That should be YOU AND YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER. Then prayer takes on a whole new meaning for you. Hallelujah!
