On 1st January, someone said to me, “The way 2020 went, we don’t know what 2021 holds, so let’s be measured with how we are joyous about the new year.” I smiled at that, and I said to her, ” Dear, we know what 2021 holds. Your future is in your HEART and in your MOUTH – Your HEART BELIEFS and your MOUTH CONFESSIONS will determine your tomorrow.” Don’t forget that. That’s why Proverbs 4:23‭-‬24 says,
“Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. Avoid all perverse talk ; stay away from corrupt speech.”

Let me quote for you something C.S Lewis, the renowned Apologist wrote in 1942, which remains evergreen even today:
‘ SATAN: “I will cause anxiety, fear and panic. I will shutdown businesses, schools, places of worship and sport events. I will cause economic turmoil.”
JESUS: “I will bring together neighbours, restore the family unit, I will bring dinner back to the kitchen table. I will help people slow down their lives and appreciate what really matters. I will teach my children to rely on me and not the world. I will teach my children to trust me and not their money and material resources.”

This was written close to a century ago, but is that not exactly what’s happening in this Covid era? Satan wants to hold you captive with FEAR. Jesus wants you to live in FAITH.
The world will give you a thousand and one reasons to be afraid. You don’t have to look far – just turn on your radio or television in the morning and you will hear all the reasons why you should be afraid:
“Covid cases are rising; more people are dieing; the economic indicators are not good; 2021 may be worse;there are riots and street protest everywhere”… And the noise goes on and on.
That kind of news is exactly what the devil wants you to hear, so that you will believe in the doom and gloom and be held captive in fear. And the sad thing is, you will find some believers joining the singing of the chorus and spreading fear rather than faith.
But the Lord sent me to tell you this day that,
“BE STRONG, DO NOT FEAR, AND DO NOT BE DISMAYED. BE GLAD AND REJOICE: FOR THE LORD IS DOING GREAT THINGS ALL AROUND YOU. SEE, THE PASTURES ARE BECOMING GREEN; THE TREES ARE BEARING FRUIT; THE FIG AND THE VINE ARE YIELDING THEIR RICHES. IT’S GOING TO BE A GREAT YEAR IF YOU CAN BELIEVE IT.”
That’s the Word of the Lord you will find in Isaiah 35:4 and Joel 2:21-22
‘Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”’
In a world where everyone is talking, don’t be an agent of fear. Rather delight yourself in God’s Word, and be a proponent of Faith. Hallelujah!

The sky is not falling, as the fearful are saying.
You know, even in 2020 where we say there was economic shutdown, I can tell you there were corporations and institutions that did phenomenally well. While others were crying economic meltdown, companies like Zoom, Amazon, Netflix, Microsoft, PayPal were all raking in billions of dollars in profits. These are in public records.
I listened to Bishop Oyedepo of Winners Chapel and the church had planted and opened over 10,000 new churches in Nigeria during the lockdown in 2020 alone – the most churches they have ever planted in a single year. During his new year’s eve message, Pastor Chris stated that Christ Embassy distributed almost 20billion copies of Rhapsody in 2020 whereas in previous years their average was 1billion copies.

What I am saying to you is that,
IT’S NOT ALL DOOM AND GLOOM – IT DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE STANDING AND WHAT YOU ARE SEEING. YOUR HEART BELIEFS AND YOUR MOUTH CONFESSIONS WILL DETERMINE YOUR TOMORROW. Don’t join the fearful in ruining your 2021. Let faith rise in your heart. He is with you in the waters and in the rivers and in the fire (Isaiah 43:1-2). The Lord is with you and in you – YOU HAVE ALREADY WON. Glooooory!

I pray for you, that your heart will be strengthened in faith; that every spirit of fear the devil is inciting around you will be vanquished away from you in Jesus name; that in 2021 you will walk in the victory the Lord has set ahead of you. IN 2021, FEAR NOT, FOR YOU HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.
