OOOOOHH..IN HIS NAME. In that wonderful name of Jesus I have seen people who were possessed and oppressed by the devil set free. In his name I have laid hands on the sick and seen the sickness dissolved instantaneously. People in all kinds of situations in their marriages and finances receive miracles when I have agreed with them ‘in His name’. And this is not because I am a Pastor.
When you read from Mark 16:16–18, it says,
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: IN MY NAME they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
Jesus said, These signs will follow all them that believe. Are you a believer? Then these signs are yours too. It is not an exclusive preserve for pastors – A thousand times NO. As a child of God, when you come in the authority of the name of Jesus as Jesus’ attorney/ agent, demons should obey you, sickness should be subject to you, and nature and circumstances would bow in obeisance – They can’t resist it, they must obey.
Many people have not understood this and hence are under bondage under the elements of the world. That is why I bring you God’s word to enlighten you and bring you up hither. BELOVED, COME UP HITHER. YOU HAVE THE AUTHORITY IN HIS NAME. Don’t let the devil have a field day around you. GET UP AND TAKE YOUR PLACE IN HIS STUPENDOUS NAME. Glory…Glory.
Let’s take a closer look at what Jesus said would happen to you ‘in His name’ from the above scripture. Put your name in that passage:
“In my name shall [Patrick] cast out devils; [he] shall speak with new tongues; [he] shall take up serpents; and if [Patrick] drinks any deadly thing, it shall not hurt him; [Patrick] shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
Many people misinterpret that passage – they say that when you have faith big enough, these signs will come. But that’s not what Jesus said; He said, when you go and preach the gospel, some will believe and some will not believe the gospel, and these are the signs that will follow those who believe the gospel.(Mk 16:15-17). IT’S FOR EVERY BELIEVER. So are we saying that a newly born again believer can cast out demons and heal the sick, and all that? An emphatic YES , when that believer is made to understand what it means to operate ‘in Jesus name’.
Understand this dear one: WHEN YOU PRAY AND ACT IN HIS NAME, IT IS NO LONGER YOU BUT HIM. THE POWER TO PERFORM IS FROM HIM AND YOU ARE MERELY REPRESENTING HIM AND STANDING IN HIS STEAD. YOU ARE HIS REPRESENTATIVE. You don’t need faith for this. Just do as He has asked you to do ‘in His name’ and watch the Lord perform. For many of us, the Word of God is too good to be true – We expect that there are some hidden conditions, and that’s how we fail to produce results. But if only you will accept God’s Word as true and act on it, you will find that you can be able to do even greater works than these(John 14:12); IF ONLY.
Now that you have access to the use of Jesus name as a family name by new birth, and as a marital name by oneness with Christ, and as an attorney by the Power of attorney Jesus gave us, what can you do with the name of Jesus? Or asked differently, WHAT CAN THE NAME DO IN YOUR LIPS?
For a lot of us, we have set up limitations and restrictions in our minds on what is possible and what is not. Jesus explained to his followers thus:
The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. – Luke 18:27
And Jesus looking upon them said to them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. – Matthew 19:26
It’s like this: When someone gives you a blank check to write whatever amount you wish, it’s not really blank. The extent of the blankness is totally dependent on how much money is in the real account. So if you write an amount more than the person has in the account, the check bounces.
So the real question is, WHAT IS THE EXTENT OF POWER IN THE NAME OF JESUS? WHAT CAN THAT NAME DO? or if you like, WHAT CAN THE NAME OF JESUS NOT DO? ARE THERE ANY LIMITATIONS TO THE POWER OF THAT NAME? OR IS IT LIMITLESS?
I ask you sincerely, “WHAT IS IT THAT YOU NEED THAT YOU THINK IS TOO MUCH FOR JESUS, AND WILL BOUNCE ON JESUS’ ACCOUNT? With men, this might be impossible but with God all things are possible. Believe and Accept that truth, Child of God.” Your week is blessed in Jesus name. Say AMEN!
