Ephesians 6:5‭-‬8
Servants, respectfully obey your earthly masters but always with an eye to obeying the real master, Christ. Don’t just do what you have to do to get by, but work heartily, as Christ’s servants doing what God wants you to do. And work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God. Good work will get you good pay from the Master, regardless of whether you are slave or free.

THE SECRET OF GOOD WORKMANSHIP IS TO DO IT FOR GOD AND NOT UNTO MEN. Can you see what this does to our workforce and national economy?

When the employee at work knows that he is rendering service to God with his work, he will do it heartily and diligently. He will not render eye-service(working only when the boss is around). This is why there is so much redundancy and loss especially in the public sector in Africa. Go to a normal office and see the idleness and negligence. The mantra is, ‘its government work. It’s not my father’s business.’ As a believer, you can’t talk and think that way. And it doesn’t matter whether your boss is nice or not – YOUR SERVICE IS TO GOD.

As believers no matter where we are, our service and work is to God. WHATSOEVER YOUR HANDS FINDS TO DO, DO IT WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND DO IT AS UNTO THE LORD. Hallelujah!
