James 4:4‭-‬5 Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?

I John 2:15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

God has always called for His children to live a sanctified and separated life from the world. The scriptural position on this is very clear: YOU CANNOT BE IN LOVE WITH THIS WORLD AND REMAIN INTIMATE WITH GOD; It’s either one or the other. And you have to make a choice. This is because the order of this fallen world is in direct contrariety to God and His kingdom.

This is so pronounced so much such that, friendship with the world is actually an act of adultery against God; And many of us are guilty of that charge. How so? Consider this:

How would you call a woman who spends Sunday with her husband, but spends the rest of the weekdays with other men? An adulteress, right? Yes. Is that not what some of us do continuously? On Sundays,  we are in church singing praise and love songs unto God, but for the rest of the week we are in an inseparable intercourse with the world. How can we continue to live like that? Is your love for God, or is it for the world?

Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Don’t be an adulterer, or an adulteress. God is calling you to live a SEPARATED LIFE from that of the world. Understand that, YOU ARE IN THIS WORLD, BUT YOU ARE NOT OF THE WORLD. THEREFORE, COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM AND BE YE SEPARATE, saith the Lord. Hallelujah! Have a blissful day in Jesus name. Amen!
