Jeremiah 50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.

Concerning the Shepherds who lead the people astray, The Living Bible says,

“They are as greedy as dogs, never satisfied; they are stupid shepherds who only look after their own interest, each trying to get as much as he can for himself from every possible source. “Come,” they say. “We’ll get some wine and have a party; let’s all get drunk. This is really living; let it go on and on, and tomorrow will be even better!” – Isaiah 56:11,12. Look at that! Shepherds who delight in entertainment and pleasure more than spiritual things.

HOW CAN YOU FOLLOW THESE BLINDLY? You do so at your own peril. Listen very carefully Child of God,

IT IS VERY POSSIBLE TO BE LED ASTRAY BY A PASTOR OR SHEPHERD IF THAT LEADER IS GOING THE WRONG WAY. The Lord himself said, “My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray”. And yet it’s through shepherds (the good ones) that the Lord leads His church. It’s a very delicate matter.

It’s like you visited a tourist place in a foreign land and you took a guide who took you around and showed you places. If that guide is lost, you are lost also. If he knows the way then you are safe. If the guide is a thief/robber, your guess is as good as mine – you are doomed.

Which is why you shouldn’t listen to anyone who tells you to follow them blindly. FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, PLEASE DON’T. Thank God we all have the Holy Spirit in us, prompting us, nudging us, bearing witness in our hearts. You can never go astray so long as you keep listening to Him.

And if anyone tells you to ignore the Spirit’s leading to follow their leading, friend, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. Grace and Peace be multiplied unto you through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen!
