John 10:11-13 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.”
The Good Shepherd puts his life and comfort on the line to protect and care for the sheep. He protects them from all forms of attacks and adversity, whether spiritual, emotional or physical.
This is really the litmus test for who is a Shepherd and who is a Hireling. WILL YOU FACE ADVERSITY AND DANGER FOR YOUR SHEEP? OR WOULD YOU RUN FOR YOUR LIFE? Are you a Shepherd, or are you a Hireling?
At home, when there is trouble or danger, the responsible father steps up and faces the danger to shield his children. That’s what the good Shepherd does for his sheep; EVEN IF IT MEANS GIVING HIS LIFE FOR THE SURVIVAL OF THE SHEEP.
But these days, it seems it’s rather the sheep who are protecting the shepherd. I saw a clip where bandits attacked a church and the pastor was the first one to jump out the window. MERCY!
THE GOOD SHEPHERD FACES THE WOLF FOR HIS SHEEP. If you are in it for the money you are not a shepherd, you are a hired man! Beware!
GRACEFUL MORNING
