1 Peter 1:18-19 AMP For you know that you were not redeemed from your useless [spiritually unproductive] way of life inherited [by tradition] from your forefathers with perishable things like silver and gold, but [you were actually purchased] with precious blood, like that of a [sacrificial] lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ.
The fact that something is a GIFT and given to you FREELY, doesn’t mean it’s NOT EXPENSIVE. The fact that salvation is a free gift of God doesn’t mean it’s INEXPENSIVE and should be taken for granted.
When I present to you as a gift the ‘Patek Philippe Grandmaster Chime’ – which is believed to be the most expensive watch, at a whopping 31million USD, will you treat it cheaply because it was a free gift? No you won’t. You will probably keep it in a very secured locker and use it only on special occasions. But unfortunately, many of us treat the free gift of salvation as something worthless.
Understand that,
SALVATION is FREE but it is very EXPENSIVE, it was bought with the PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.
And even more unfortunate and tragic, is how those of us who present this salvation to others, make it so INEXPENSIVE; We have misunderstood and misappropriated its VALUE because it is free. But guys, IT WASN’T EASY FOR OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST. IT COST HIM HIS VERY LIFE. Imagine the pain, the sweat, the tears; Imagine the stripes and insults and shame; Imagine the weight of the whole world’s sin on his shoulders as he walked that icy and lonely calvary road; See Him hanged on the cross; He gave his life and died and was buried in the tomb. IT WASN’T EASY AT ALL, BUT IT WAS WORTH IT – and Jesus Christ paid it all for you and I.
Take some few minutes and worship Him today, for the price He paid for your salvation. Oh! Thank you Lord Jesus. I worship you!
GRACEFUL MORNING
