Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities : for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
When I tell you that, you have not the power in yourself to do right and keep right, that might even be an understatement. The Bible says, “The Spirit helps us in our INFIRMITIES “. The Greek word used here is Astheneia. It literally means feebleness, weakness, impotence, frailty. It means LACK OF STRENGTH
●to understand a thing
●to do the right and glorious things
●to restrain or stop corrupt desires
●to bear troubles
The Amplified says,
So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.
Listen beloved, if the Holy Spirit leaves you to your own devices, you won’t know
●What to pray for, or
●How to pray for it
●And you will even lack the strength and desire to utter it.
Amazing. How many times haven’t you desired and prayed for something fervently, only to come to the realisation after sometime that that thing would have been disastrous for you? Without the Spirit of God, that will be your entire experience of life.
Listen. The conclusion of the matter is, MAN NEEDS CHRIST. Period!
GRACEFUL MORNING
