Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men
Ezekiel 33:31 So they come to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.
When we quickly rush people to “Accept Christ”, and they do it without understanding fully and without a commitment to the decision, are they saved?
Consider this scenario:
I am in a car with a prostitute on her way to do prostitution. She asks me to pay her fare. I say, ‘I will pay it for you, but first I want you to give your life to Christ’. I tell her it’s easy and free. Whiles I’m talking she wants me to finish quickly so she can go; so she says ‘YES’ to everything I say, and she eventually and reluctantly prays the sinner’s prayer(just to get rid of me). She gets down and continues to her prostitution base. Was she converted? Did she believe? Did she even understand that quick message?
If you will be sincere, you will attest to times when you said “Yes” to a proposal, not because you believed it, but because you wanted to get rid of the presenter. So does such an ACCEPTANCE become binding on you? In human terms, YES, because you consented. But in Divine Terms with God, NO. GOD IS MUCH MORE INTERESTED IN THE STATE OF YOUR HEART than in the motion of your lips, BECAUSE IT IS IN YOUR HEART THAT THE REAL ACTION IS TAKING PLACE.
This is what Jesus meant by,
‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, And honor Me with their lips, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR FROM Me.’
A lot of these ones will remain UNFRUITFUL BRANCHES because they are not properly joined to the vine. The vine life is not finding expression in their lives. If they continue like this for some good time, they will be CUT AWAY, and finally end up in the fire.
If you are a believer, or a preacher, you must understand these dynamics of the Gospel, and make sure that yourself and others who hear you are properly joined to the Lord. Hallelujah! God bless you.
GRACEFUL MORNING
