Jeremiah 17:5-6 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.
Why can’t we HOLD FAST our confessions? Why is it so difficult to trust God concerning His word oft times? It’s easy to doubt God than to doubt our senses. Why?
You will realize that, mostly when we doubt the Father, we are doubting His word. When we doubt His word, it’s because we believe something else which is contrary to that word of God.
Our confidence might be in the arm of flesh; it might be in medicine; it might be in our inventions, or our institutions; it might be in an uncle; etc. But whatever our confidence is in, if it contradicts the word of God then it’s bad and destructive to our faith life, and we must be concerned about it.
This is why God says,
“Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord”. We are not against hospitals or medicine – they are good and they have helped a lot, but understand that ANYTHING THAT TURNS YOUR HEART AND FAITH AWAY FROM THE LORD IS A CURSE UNTO YOU. A child of God can become so accustomed to drugs such that it’s the only thing she thinks about when there is pain. If you’re not careful, it will take the place of the healing stripes of Jesus in your life. And that is very dangerous to you. You know why? Because the arm of flesh will definitely fail you one day. It’s destined to fail.
That’s why, your utmost faith must be in God. You can use the inventions and innovations of man, but it must never take the place of God and His word in your life. Hallelujah! Be blessed!
GRACEFUL MORNING
